Both Chair Deery and Vice-Chair Bauer were present at the meeting and presented the thoughts behind many of the decisions reached by PRAB regarding this project.

City Council approved the Independence Square Park conceptual design in the August 28, 2017 City Council meeting. The City Council voiced many of the same concerns as PRAB had, hoping that cost savings with the project could be realized as it moves through the design process while maintaining the integrity of the design.

Chair Todd Deery and Vice Chair John Bauer were present at the council meeting and presented the thoughts behind many of the decisions reached by PRAB regarding this project.

John Bauer asked about an estimate on lead time on the next set of plans. Waiting for GAI to provide the scope of services, Jay Conn will probably be able to give a better idea at the next meeting.

Todd Deery mentioned since the park will be event driven, how will the street closures be determined? Jay Conn stated there has to be a balance as to when to close the street, they do not want to have an excessive amount of street closures take place that would have a negative impact on businesses in the area.

Dale McDonald, 108 Tangelo Court. The original agreement has specific provisions as to how and when the street can be closed. Wanted to thank Todd Deery and John Bauer for presenting at the council meeting. Would like for this park to be the best place that we can put together, event or no event people will hang out and socially interact, it is important to see it as a bigger picture spot, this might be the only park that people see.

Todd Deery said that it is nice to have a City Council that listens to their boards and appreciates their input.
